  • Welcome Message

Dear members:

First of all, I would like to express my sincere respect and gratitude to all members, who have devoted themselves to the development of the society with unwavering affection for the KASID.

Since its founding in November 2002, the Society has been a midsized society with a membership of 1,000 people, and has been striving for the intestinal research. Thanks to the enthusiastic and dedicated support of all of our members and past executives, who had made remarkable progress in the society, the KASID has contributed to establish the clinical standards for practice of inflammatory bowel disease, colorectal neoplasia, and small bowel diseases. Also, we have contributed to the public health promotion through publicity and educational activities.

Now, we will focus on the following projects for the next two years in order to lead Asia in the field of intestinal diseases, and grow into an international society.

First, we will promote academic research through encouraging creative research activities of young researchers and multi-center collaborative research. In addition, through the successful hosting of the AOCC and IMKASID 2018 International Symposium, and cooperation with American and European societies, such as ECCO and AIBD, KASID will play a leading role in the field of intestinal research.

Second, we will provide guideline for the treatment of intestinal diseases to help the medical treatment and research of the members, and make efforts to update continuously lead the health care policies.

Third, we will provide the diversify programs to enable all members to participate, provide correct medical information on intestinal diseases such as inflammatory bowel disease, colorectal neoplasia, small bowel diseases and nutrition.

Fourth, we will continue to make efforts to develop the 'Intestinal Research', the official journal of the Asian Organization for Crohn's and Colitis (AOCC).

We sincerely encourage you to engage in a lot of interest, criticism, and active participation to ensure that the four most important projects are completed.

Members, including myself and members of the committee, will do our best to meet the expectations of the KASID members.
